^- I sat on the top of Half-Blood Hill with Annabeth. Even though I’d been here all summer, I still couldn’t believe how much the camp had changed since last year. I couldn’t believe how many new cabins had been built. I couldn’t believe how many new half-bloods had arrived. But most of all I couldn’t believe how much more beautiful Annabeth had gotten. I didn’t think that was possible. Her blond hair blew in the wind. It had gotten longer since last year. Her gray eyes were filled with happiness and sadness at the same time. “I can’t believe how quick the summer went by. It seems like just yesterday we were kicking the Ares kids’ butts at capture the flag.” She said, laughing. I laughed too, remembering when we had beat the Ares kids and Clarisse had nearly killed the referees for not saying anything. “Yeah.” I sighed. I heard Chiron yell that the bus would be here in five minutes. “I guess I better go get my stuff.” I looked at Annabeth. She had tears in her eyes. “Guess this is goodbye Seaweed Brain.” She said sadly, looking down at the ground. I was at a loss for words. “Annabeth, I…” I didn’t get to finish because the next thing I knew I was kissing her. She kissed me back. We  heard someone clear their throat. We looked up to see Nico standing there awkwardly. “Um, uh, Percy the bus is um, uh, the bus is here.” He said uncomfortably. I looked at Annabeth. She sighed. “Go. You know the bus doesn’t wait.” She kissed me on the cheek and I headed down the hill. I looked out the window of the bus at Annabeth waving goodbye alone on the hill.

@- I stood there watching the bus drive away. I hated it when Percy left. What if he decided not to come back next year? He was old enough to do that now. What if he decided not to come back because he found a girl better than me? I was still pondering this when I heard someone behind me say, “Hey!” I jumped and turned around to find my best friend Thalia standing behind me. “Thalia!” I screamed. I gave her a quick hug then started asking questions. “What are you doing here? Did you like, quit being a hunter? Can you even do that?” “No I don’t think you can do that.” She answered. “Oh. Well then what are you doing here?” I asked sitting back down beside Thalia. “Well I’m in town for today so I decided I’d come see you and Seaweed Brain.” My face fell. “What’d he do this time?” She asked. “Nothing! He’s great. It’s just that he just left and I’m really gonna miss him.” I explained. “Well now that I’m here I can cheer you up! How about we go make some of the litlle Ares kids cry by beating them in sword fighting?!” Thalia asked, standing up excitedly. “You always know what to say.” I said getting up and following her to the Sword Fighting Arena.
